Faith

Curiosity found me hurriedly pulling on clothes

left lying on the floor,

nature’s subtle vibration having touched my face

as I lay sleeping,

it’s soft tapping against my closed eyes, a morse code

enticing me to wake…

to follow the light leaking through the blinds

onto the balcony in the quiet hours before dawn,

with fog rising slowly from the still forest,

looking up, hardly breathing

as the clouds, like pale velvet curtains slowly parting

reveal the rare, luminous moon

ushering it onto the stage of the dark and starry sky

allowing me for a moment to step outside

of the shape-shifting slipstream that is the world

and simply be.
