Foraging

We keep telling ourselves

it isn’t going to happen,

that our world will not be

destroyed by a madman or two

hurling threats and insults before

picking up their toys.

The image of what might be

cuts too deep,

leaving me to forage through

seed thoughts,

separating golden wheat from the chaff,

searching for faith, hope and redemption,

life’s lost lexicon –

and if push comes to shove,

praying for resurrection.

A beautiful piece of found art at my favourite grove in Stanley Park (Vancouver, B.C.).

  4. Oh my. This gave me the chills – long-lasting all-over chills. Those last four lines are so powerful. And the “picking up their toys” describes the juvenile insanity perfectly.

This indeed mirrors our current situation..war is goin on in one of the major cities in my country ….and heaven knows when it will end. The sad part though is we see young boys being part of the war…seeing these young boys carrying guns breaks my heart…they are suppose to be in school carrying books and papers instead of guns..

    Anyways..there goes my rant…lol

So scary and true. I agree with Michnavs. How terribly sad those young men that are brainwashed, carrying guns. I cannot watch the news anymore. Feel so helpless. Thank you Kimita for your always profound words . Love your photo .

Your words truly reflect the current state our world is in right now. I loved the part “leaving me to forage through seed thoughts, separating golden wheat from the chaff.” It rings truth, we need to find that golden nugget of positivity amongst all that rubbish in our life. A very poignant post…always looking forward to reading your profound and eloquent words!

  8. FREAKING AWESOME!!!!! This is so relevant with all of the mess going on in this country. For this world to be honest. Foreging is something that makes me think of the how we (man) should be in an ageessive forage for a strong connection with God.

    • When I catch the news here and there, I’m shocked each and every time, there doesn’t seem (at the moment!) to be an end to the ongoing madness and my heart falters…but we must carry on and continue to fight the good fight with our words (as well as our thoughts!). Thank you (always!) for your very lovely words…
