Strung like fast-falling tears
among long, lush lashes,
are words that we conjure without asking,
spinning tales that have no meaning, our moon-cast languages
creating inscrutable worlds.
Piercing through the static is not
for the faint of heart,
only those brave enough to pick up the pieces
of what we’ve wrought,
can wield power strong enough to change the world.
A beautiful and truely inspiring poem Kim…this warms my heart…

Absolutely lovely. 😊 It reminded me of a bit of wisdom from Albert Einstein: “Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better”. And isn’t that so very true?

What a perfect quote…being in nature is so soothing and yes, the answers we sometimes seek are found there…your comment is a beautiful gift, thank you (always!) for leaving such thoughtful gems!

Hoping those who pick up the pieces don’t try to put them back as they were. The World needs change not more of the same.

Nature Is always the answer. The walk past the ocean, the singing of the fir trees on a windy night, the call of the owl, the calmness that manifests is the cleanser. The eraser of words or symbols, making all null and void. This is replaced by power.

I love the imagery of nature as a force for cleansing, recalibrating our world when needed – it’s so true, eventually our words and symbols become dust…the power of creation lives on despite our best efforts to try to control or manipulate it. Thank you, Mom, for your always very thoughtful words & prose! XO

Such poetic beauty reading the words you crafted Kimberlee! It rings true, you need courage to pick yourself up after you’ve fallen from whatever choices you made. Sometimes it’s easy to quit but it takes a strong person to try again.

Nature has so many lessons in wisdom for the us. If only we have the time to look a little longer, away from the glowing lights of our mobile phones, into the many tales that nature wishes to tell us. Such a beautiful poem, Kim.

I love these words, “If only we have the time to look a little longer, away from the glowing lights of our mobile phones, into the many tales that nature wishes to tell us.” Nature called to me from my grandfather’s garden many years ago on Vancouver Island, to this day, the scent of cedar takes me back to those carefree days…thank you for leaving these lovely words, it warms my heart!
